Welsh Fire round out direct signings as Australian duo join

Welsh Fire have signed five more international players to round out their direct signings ahead of the inaugural The Hundred auction.

New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra joins his former Manchester Originals team-mate Phil Salt at Fire, while England all-rounder Kemp and Australia all-round Georgia Wareham became the franchise’s first signings for the women’s side on the weekend.

Kemp, 20, has spent five seasons at Southern Brave, winning the tournament in 2023.

Wareham, 26, was with Superchargers for the past three years, but only played two games in their 2025 title-winning campaign.

Ravindra, 26, played four games for Originals last season, averaging 30.33 and taking three wickets with his part-time spin.

“It’s great that we’ve been able to secure three high quality players to come to Welsh Fire for next year,” said Fire general manager Mark Wallace said.

“This is very much a reset for the competition and these signings give us a fantastic base to build the squad from in the Hundred auction.”

On Tuesday, the Fire added Australian international Georgia Voll and South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen to their roster.

Jansen, 25, has played Test, one-day and T20 internationals for the Proteas and Welsh Fire believe he is “one of the most exciting all-rounders in world cricket”.

The left-arm fast bowler can also bat effectively in the lower order.

Voll, 22, has also impressed at domestic and international level and Fire expect her to add “youth, energy and attacking options”.

Welsh Fire player list manager and women’s head coach Michael Klinger said: “Marco and Georgia are both very exciting signings.

“Marco is one of the best T20 all-rounders in the world. A dangerous left arm swing bowler with excessive bounce and a power hitter through the middle order.”

Klinger added: “Georgia is one of the world’s most exciting, powerful top order batters who can also bowl some handy off-spin.”
