The All-Electric Mercedes-Benz CLA Lands in Wales: And It Made Quite an Entrance

Rhodri Evans

Saturday 13th September saw a buzz across every Sinclair Mercedes-Benz dealership in Wales as the all-new, all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA finally took centre stage. And it didn’t just arrive, it put on a show.

Guests turned up to be among the first in the UK to witness the official reveal of the next-generation CLA: a sleek, seriously clever EV that’s already turning heads in the industry. Guests were treated to an exclusive guided Technology Spotlight, walking them through why this is the most intelligent car Mercedes-Benz has ever built.

The CLA was also brought to life in a completely unexpected and uniquely Welsh way. Two of Wales’ best-known graffiti talents – Tee2Sugars and Rmer One – were invited along to the showrooms to create live artwork inspired by the CLA right there on site. Across the day, the pair transformed 15 blank canvases into bold, neon, electric themed pieces.

And in a lovely touch, those 15 canvases were gifted to the first 15 guests who took a test drive in the new model, a proper keepsake to mark the launch.

What’s the Hype About? Meet the New Electric CLA

The attention isn’t just for show, the new CLA has arrived with some serious credentials.

A standout electric range

The big headline: up to 484 miles on a single charge. That’s one of the longest ranges of any EV currently on UK roads, and a massive win for anyone with range anxiety.

Next-level tech

The CLA runs on the brand-new MB.OS operating system, built in-house by Mercedes. It features a huge 14-inch central touchscreen, a crisp digital instrument cluster, and an optional ‘Superscreen’ a full-width dashboard display that blends AI, augmented reality navigation, and driver info into one seamless setup.

The voice assistant? It’s had a major revamp. This isn’t the usual “set a destination” stuff. The AI lets you have a proper two-way conversation – think ChatGPT but built into your dashboard. You can ask questions, get explanations, personalise settings, or simply chat. It’s miles ahead of anything else currently on offer.

Space where you need it

A surprisingly generous 101-litre frunk gives you valuable extra storage up front, ideal for charging cables, small bags, or training kit.

A car that looks electric

The backlit grille and illuminated Mercedes star set the tone – a slick, futuristic design that stands out without shouting.

Competitive price point

Kicking things off is the CLA 250+ Sport Edition, complete with that massive 483-mile range. Right now there’s an introductory saving of £4,850, bringing the price down to £40,765.

Prefer petrol? There’s also a new mild-hybrid petrol version available to pre-order now.
