Swansea City have announced that the club have signed a ‘long-term strategic partnership’ with US investment company Shamrock Capital.

Shamrock Capital, founded by the Disney family, has “committed significant capital” to the Championship club.

The fund currently oversees $7.4bn (£5.5bn) worth of assets, including many across media and sport.

While the size of the investment is not disclosed, Shamrock Capital will not become shareholders in the club.

The news comes shortly after high-profile minority investments made by Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric and hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg.

“We are very pleased to partner with Shamrock Capital in what we believe will be a highly productive relationship for Swansea City,” Swansea City’s controlling owners Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen, said.

“Shamrock is an established investor, playing a central part in the growth of numerous companies and brands globally for nearly half a century.

“Their involvement with Swansea City can assist the club in achieving its strategic business goals, while their expertise and knowledge within media, entertainment and sports sectors will be invaluable.”

“We have followed Swansea City’s trajectory closely and are proud to partner with the club at this stage of its growth.”

US businessmen Cravatt and Cohen took a controlling stake in the Swans in November 2024.

Shamrock were founded in 1978 by Roy E Disney – nephew of Walt Disney – as the family’s personal investment vehicle.
