Swansea City have confirmed the departure of midfielder Ethan Galbraith on the same day as signing Moussa Yeo from Red Bull Salzburg.

Galbraith’s transfer is reportedly worth £10 million, having had a successful season in west Wales.

Before moving to the Swans, former Manchester United graduate Galbraith spent two seasons with Leyton Orient – a period that brought 11 goals in 96 games.

Yeo joins the Swans on a four-year deal after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Austrian Bundesliga side Salzburg.

Yeo’s move to Wales means a reunion with Swansea head coach Vitor Matos, who had a spell as assistant boss under Pep Lijnders at Salzburg in 2024.

“During those months he helped me to progress a lot,” Yeo said.

“He helped my play as a number nine and he helped my play as a winger. We had a good time together at Salzburg, and here it is going to be even better.”

Matos says he expects Yeo to bring “creativity, energy and versatility” having secured the deal.

Yeo’s contract includes an option of an additional 12 months, with Matos adding: “He can play more than one position and has good game understanding. I have worked with him before, and I know he will be an exciting player.

“He is a young player, but he has already been exposed to a really good level of football and we are confident he will be able to adapt to the physicality, the intensity and the amount of games in the Championship.”

Yeo told the Swansea club website: “I’m only 22 years old, but in football, 22 years is already a lot.

“Playing in the Europa League and the Champions League, I think those were great moments. They were big games, especially in the Champions League, against teams like Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen.

“But I think I’ve learned a lot from them, and hopefully I can help the team because of that.”
