Swansea City have seen two players leave the club, with Wales winger Cameron Congreve completing a permanent move abroad while midfielder Ollie Cooper has headed out on loan to Notts County.

Congreve, 22, has joined Belgian top-flight outfit Westerlo for an undisclosed fee.

The Swansea academy product made his senior debut against Blackpool back in March 2022 and went on to make 19 first-team appearances for the Swans, including three league starts.

After a 2024-25 season out on loan at Bromley, he impressed further during a loan spell at Scottish Premiership side Dundee last term, scoring three goals in 36 games having also netted six times in 47 appearances during his spell at Bromley.

That form in Scotland proved timely, earning Congreve his first senior international caps for Wales in the June friendlies against Ghana and Romania.

There had been some suggestion he might push for a first-team spot at Swansea in 2026-27, but the Championship club have instead sanctioned his exit.

The fee is believed to be in seven figures, with the deal including add-ons, a sell-on clause, and an option for Swansea to match any future bid should Westerlo look to sell Congreve on.

It’s the second Welsh international the Swans have sold in quick succession, following Liam Cullen’s move to Leicester City on Friday.

Elsewhere, attacking midfielder Ollie Cooper has joined League Two side Notts County on a season-long loan.

The 26-year-old is another product of the Swansea academy, having racked up nine goals in 118 appearances for the club, and spent the first half of last season out on loan at Wigan.

Cooper already has connections at Meadow Lane, with Magpies’ director of football Richard Montague and head coach Martin Paterson both familiar with him from their time at Swansea.

“Ollie is a technically-gifted player who is both tidy in possession and very aggressive without the ball,” Montague told the club website.

“He has more than 100 appearances in the Championship, plus senior international caps, to his name and is a fantastic character who I’m sure will bring a lot to the squad.”
