Supporting Local – The KitKlub Initiative

The KitKlub Initiative

As part of the KitKlub initiative that was founded in 2011, Trade Centre Wales (TCW) has been providing kits to local junior teams across Wales.

The initiative provides sports kits across rugby, football, cricket, and netball, supporting all age groups, both boys and girls, from under 7’s all the way through to under 17’s.

KitKlub now provides over 400 clubs with kit across the UK, with over 100 being in Wales alone. Once approved as a KitKlub team, clubs are provided with kits year after year to ensure they don’t have to worry about the cost of replacing their kit each season.

TCW’s commitment to the clubs goes further than just providing kits. Brand ambassador, Mike Doyle, whom you may recognise from the stage or your TV screen, travels to visit KitKlub teams at training sessions and matches.

‘’KitKlub has to be one of the best things I have ever done’’, says Mike. ‘’I have watched it grow into something quite special. You can’t put a price on the excitement and the joy on children’s faces as they receive their brand-new professional-looking kits.

“It certainly does give them a sense of identity and they wear it with pride. I am so proud to be part of this incredible project.”

KitKlub is also embarking on a project in 2023, to produce mini documentaries of the teams, that will be published on social media, providing an extra level of support through club promotion across its online audience.

The project started in 2022 when Bynea RFC got the KitKlub glitz and glam treatment, getting in front of the camera for one of their training sessions. This was followed by Gorseinon AFC Under 9’s in January 2023, who played Loughor

Sports and Sponsorship correspondent, Chris Williams, believes KitKlub is a true difference maker in local communities.

“KitKlub puts a smile on these young children’s faces, reading all the match reports and viewing the pictures that are sent in proves to me that we are a valuable part of all the clubs we support”.

Trade Centre Wales is part of The Trade Centre Group, the largest independent car supermarket in the UK, specialising in used cars.

TCW has two large showrooms based at Neath Abbey Business Park in Neath and Cardiff North, which is on Cilfynydd Rd, Abercynon, Mountain Ash.

Founded in 1999 by local businessman Mark Bailey, The Trade Centre Group has grown to seven dealerships with two in Wales and five in England.
