Scarlets have announced the signing of Welsh qualified second row Harvey Cuckson from Bath following two loan spells with the region.

The 22-year-old lock joins Scarlets following two loan spells in west Wales this season, where he impressed across five matches.

Cuckson impressed as a late call-up for the games against the Lions and Sharks on tour in South Africa. He also featured in the URC matches against Glasgow, Dragons and Ulster.

Having grow up in North Wales and played his junior rugby for Mold RFC, Cuckson qualifies for Wales through his grandmother.

Capped by England at U18s, where he was named in the NextGenXV list of leading U18 players in the world, Harvey was also part of the England U20s squad for the World Cup in South Africa, only for injury to end his tournament prematurely.

Cuckson also played for Worcester in the opening two rounds of the English Championship and for Gallagher PREM powerhouses Bath in five Premiership Cup fixtures. He started out his professional career at the Warriors before joining the Bath Academy in 2022.

“Harvey made a real impression on us during his time here this season,” Scarlets Interim Director of Rugby Nigel Davies said.

“He came in at short notice ahead of a challenging tour in South Africa and showed a level of composure and physicality that stood out straight away. He embraced everything we asked of him, strong at the set-piece, worked hard defensively and, importantly, showed a real appetite to learn and improve.

“Bringing in and developing players who have a connection to Welsh rugby is important to us. Harvey is a young player with genuine potential and, just as importantly, the mindset to grow within our environment.

“We believe this is the right place for him to continue that journey and we are excited to see how he develops as part of this group.”

“I really enjoyed my time with the Scarlets earlier this season,” Cuckson added.

“It’s a club with a clear identity, strong ambition and a passionate support behind it.

“To be a part of the Scarlets and to play my rugby in Wales, is a huge opportunity for me. I’m looking forward to the challenge of the URC and getting stuck in with the squad in pre-season.”

Harvey is the second addition to the Scarlets squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, following the signing of Wales international prop Corey Domachowski from Cardiff.
