Phil Parkinson to receive the freedom of Wrexham

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson is set to receive the freedom of the Wrexham County Borough.
Parkinson was hired in the summer of 2021 and has since overseen three successive promotions at Wrexham, guiding them from the National League to the Championship.
This season, Wrexham have been in the play-off mix, with the club set to finish in their highest ever position in the English football league.
On the back of the Red Dragons’ promotion into the Championship last year, councillors unanimously voted in favour of Parkinson being handed the honour.
Parkinson will sign official documents at Wrexham Guildhall in a ceremony on Tuesday afternoon.
Parkinson joined Wrexham just five months after the club were taken over by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.
Despite back-to-back defeats by Southampton and Birmingham City, Wrexham remain in the hunt to secure a play-off spot in the Championship this season.
They currently sit seventh in the table, four points adrift of the top six with four matches left to play.
