MyRounders: The social sport taking Wales by storm

If you think rounders is just a childhood memory, think again. MyRounders has transformed this nostalgic playground pastime into the fastest growing social sport for adults across Wales and the movement is only just getting started.

Born in 2022, from Neath to Swansea, Bridgend to Barry, thousands of players have discovered a brand-new reason to lace up their trainers. MyRounders isn’t just about bats and bases; it’s about laughter under the floodlights, friendships forged and nostalgia of awesome summers as a child.

With more than 8,500 registered players in just three years, MyRounders has tapped into something unique, a sport that’s as inclusive as it is addictive. Men and women, mums and sons, brothers, and sisters even grandparents and grandchildren, all play side by side. No experience is needed. The rules are simple, and the experience is wholesome.

Teams with witty names like The Merry Go Rounders, Purple Rinsers, No Base Like Home and Base Invaders play with pride across south Wales, there’s 35 leagues to date so there’s bound to be one near you.

And unlike many sports, MyRounders is built for real lives. Games are short, weekly fixtures are flexible, and the whole model is geared towards busy adults who want to stay active without pressure.

It’s more than sport. MyRounders has become a community lifeline. Many players had never joined a sports team before, some hadn’t set foot in a leisure centre for years, but here they’ve found confidence, wellbeing and a tribe that cheers them on. The mental health benefits are just as powerful as the physical.

And this is only the beginning. MyRounders is growing across Wales, with new leagues launching every few weeks both indoor and outdoor. The ambition? To make rounders the nation’s favourite social sport, one that’s accessible, inclusive, and unforgettable.

So, whether you’re chasing nostalgia, craving connection, or simply searching for a reason to get moving again, MyRounders is waiting. All you need is some courage and a smile. The rest? That’s our job.

Join the movement. Play, Connect, Belong.
