Jeremiah Azu wins gold in the 60m and 200m at the UK Athletics Indoor Championships, with Welsh athletes winning five golds in total.
European and World indoor champion Jeremiah Azu took home 60m and 200m titles, while Abigail Pawlett won the 60m hurdles.
In the longer distances, Issy Boffey was crowned 800m champion, while Bethan Davies won the 3000m walk.
There were silver medals for 200m sprinter Hannah Brier and 400m runner Harry Bradley, while Hannah Lake and Sabrina Fortune took bronze in the high jump and shot put respectively.
There was also a bronze for pole vaulter Thomas Walley.
Azu, 24, defended the 60m title he won in 2024 with a season’s best time of 6.56 seconds.
He described the race as a “dress rehearsal” for next month’s World Athletics Indoor Championships in Poland, where he will be hoping to retain another title.
“It is never easy to defend these titles and not something I take for granted,” he said.
“I actually wanted to run quicker, well I always want to run quicker.”
Pawlett, 23, rounded up an impressive day in the midlands by defending her 60m hurdles title with a personal best time of 8.05.
Fresh from clocking a personal best 1:57.43 in Boston last month, Welsh champion Issy Boffey took the 800m title, finishing in 1:59.64.
It was Boffey’s third UK indoor title, with Olympic gold medallist Keely Hodgkinson – the only UK athlete to go quicker than her – missing from Sunday’s final.
After a four year absence, Bethan Davies marked her return to the championships by racking up another British title with a time of 14:00.94 in the 3000m walk.
World champion in the para athletics F20 category, Sabrina Fortune achieved a new personal best of 15.12m for bronze in the shot put.
