Wales head coach Steve Tandy has picked six uncapped players in his extended 48-player squad for this summer’s tests.

Jac Morgan returns, with the currently injured Dewi Lake also included, with no captain announced yet.

Cardiff prop Rhys Barratt earns a first call-up, while Ospreys tighthead is also Ben Warren picked for the first time, having trained with the squad during the Six Nations.

There are three new faces in the back row, with Dragons uncapped duo Ryan Woodman and Harrison Keddie selected alongside former England U20s star Kane James.

In the backs, there is one new face in the form of Harlequins centre Bryn Bradley.

With Wales playing four matches this summer, including an out of window game at Twickenham against the Barbarians and long travel to away matches with Argentina and South Africa, Tandy has opted for a larger squad.

There are twelve front row options and three players per position in all other areas as Tandy looks to test a number of different potential combinations this summer.

There are recalls for Dragons prop Dillon Lewis, Leicester flanker Tommy Reffell, Scarlets centre Joe Roberts and Cardiff scrum-half Ellis Bevan.

Morgan is not the only player returning from injury, with lock Teddy Williams and centre Max Llewellyn included after the missing the Six Nations.

Lewis and Cardiff tighthead Sam Wainwright are in ahead of Tomas Francis and Archie Griffin, who appeared in all of Wales’ Six Nations matches this spring.

Francis, who will move to Sale from Provence next season, has been rested while Bath’s Griffin will undergo surgery.

Tandy will have to navigate a number of on-going injury issues, with concerns around the fitness of Lake, Sam Costelow, Josh Adams, and Tomos Williams.

There is no room for Scarlets flanker Josh Macleod, Dragons trio Rio Dyer, Elliot Dee and Brodie Coghlan or Ospreys quartet Owen Watkin, Morgan Morris, Morgan Morse and Harri Deaves.
