All-rounder Andy Gorvin has been named Glamorgan’s captain for the county’s One-Day Cup campaign, with David Harrison to coach the side.

The 28-year-old helped the Welsh county win the competition in his debut 2021 season and in 2024, and will captain in the absence of Kiran Carlson who was picked up by London Spirit in The Hundred.

“It’s an absolute privilege to be leading Glamorgan in the One-Day Cup this season,” Gorvin said.

“We have an exciting crop of younger players coming through, and together with some more experienced heads we are looking to build on performances from the other formats this season and in the ODC over the last few years.

“We can’t wait to get going in Neath next week.”

Director of Cricket Mark Wallace praised Gorvin’s appointment, highlighting his influence within the squad and the example he sets on and off the field.

“With multiple players away at The Hundred the competition allows us to give opportunities to different players within our squad”, said Wallace.

“Andy is one of the most popular and respected members of the squad and I’m delighted that he will be able to show his leadership qualities on the field as captain of Glamorgan for the Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign.”

With head coach Richard Dawson beginning coaching duties with the Welsh Fire, David Harrison has been confirmed as Glamorgan’s interim for the One-Day Cup.

Harrison had a successful playing career with Glamorgan before moving into coaching. He has served as assistant coach for several seasons and previously took charge of the One-Day Cup side in 2021, guiding Glamorgan to a historic title triumph.
