Glamorgan all-rounder Ben Kellaway has conceded that his side will most likely have to win all three of their remaining matches in the T20 Blast central group to qualify for the knockouts.

The Welsh county had an up-and-down weekend, beating Warwickshire in a thrilling chase, before falling short against Worcestershire on Sunday afternoon.

In the latter game, Kellaway starred with ball and bat, taking 3-24 from his allocation in the first innings, then compiling 43 from 26 ball before being run out in what proved to be one of the decisive moments of the match.

“We are just getting to that stage of the tournament now where every game feels like a knockout game,” said Kellaway.

“To not get over the line with the bat, is one that got away. But we’ve got to look past that now and we’ve got three more big games we need to win. That’s the simple way of looking at it.”

It has been a stop-start season for Kellaway with the bat, especially in the Blast, where cameos have punctuated some low scores.

“It’s been a bit of a tricky season so far for me with the bat,” admitted Kellaway.

“To put myself in a position where I’ve pretty much got myself out is actually really disappointing. but that’s cricket.

“I take ownership for that personally. I think that was the turning point in the game so it’s very disappointing to feel like you let the team down a little bit.”

Despite the recent setback, Kellaway insists qualification remains within Glamorgan’s grasp if they can respond over the closing weeks of the group stage.

“We’ve played some good cricket but these next three games are huge for us,” he added.

Glamorgan host Northamptonshire on Wednesday, before trips to Warwickshire and Gloucestershire to round out the group stage. The Welsh county currently sit in fourth in the Central & West Group, with the top two qualifying for the quarter-finals, as well as two of the best third placed sides.
