Glamorgan duo Jacob Blades and Harry Wallace have been selected to play for England U19s in their two-match youth test series with South Africa.

The call-up for Blades caps off a superb fortnight for the young batter.

His selection follows a standout performance for the England U19 Invitational XI last week, where he top‑scored with 96 from just 83 balls against South Africa A in a one‑day fixture.

Wallace also earns his place in the squad after impressing in the build‑up to the white‑ball series. The Glamorgan batter struck a superb hundred against the England Invitational XI ahead of the Youth ODIs.

Ralphie Albert of Surrey will captain the England junior side, with uncapped duo Blades and Bradley Sylvester included in a 16-player squad that otherwise includes players who have been involved in the recently-completed Youth ODI series.

There are also spots for the Charlie Harmison and Rocky Flintoff, the sons of England legends Steve Harmison and Andrew Flintoff.

Flintoff senior is the current head coach of the England Lions team.

The Youth Test series begins at the County Ground in Beckenham on Friday. The second Youth Test will be played at Hove from Friday 17 July.
