Fortis Sports Group has strengthened its foothold in the athlete management world, confirming it has completed two separate deals.
The Welsh sports agency have completed a full acquisition of World in Motion Rugby and a strategic equity investment in World in Motion Limited.
The double transaction marks another step forward in Fortis’s ongoing growth across the sports management industry and deepens its presence in both rugby and football representation.
As part of the deals, World in Motion Rugby now sits fully within the Fortis Rugby group following the acquisition, bringing the business and its operations under Fortis’s umbrella.
At the same time, Fortis has taken a strategic equity stake in World in Motion Limited, laying the foundation for a long-term partnership between the two companies.
Bringing World in Motion Rugby on board adds further depth to Fortis Rugby’s client representation, cementing its status as one of the sector’s leading rugby management operations.
The investment in World in Motion Limited, meanwhile, signals Fortis’s belief in the business and the people running it, while opening the door to closer collaboration between the two groups moving forward.
“This is an important milestone for Fortis,” Ian Bird, director of Fortis Sports Group, said.
“The completion of these transactions reflects our long-term strategy of building a broader, more resilient sports management group, and we are delighted to welcome the World in Motion Rugby team into Fortis, and to begin this new chapter alongside World in Motion Limited as we enter into the football representation space.”
“We are excited to announce this development as we approach our 30th anniversary as an agency,” Andy Evans, CEO of World in Motion Ltd, added.
“We are confident that the combined strengths of our respective businesses will strengthen World in Motion’s position as a leading global football agency, while enabling World in Motion Rugby to thrive.”
