Emma Finucane wins sprint gold at Track World Cup

Welsh cyclist Emma Finucane won gold in the women’s sprint at the 2026 UCI Track World Cup in Hong Kong.
Finucane also won silver in the team event with Rhianna Parris-Smith and Lauren Bell, as well as taking home bronze in the women’s keirin.
The 23-year-old from Carmarthen dominated the sprint event, securing a 2-0 win over Mina Sato in the final, and also won bronze in the women’s keirin.
Finucane’s Great Britain teammate and partner Matt Richardson was also in the medals, winning gold in the men’s individual sprint and team sprint alongside Joe Truman and Harry Ledingham-Horn.
Richardson, who turned 27 on Friday, won two golds two months after he won the European title in Turkey.
