Wales Netball have confirmed the appointment of Reinga Bloxham as interim head coach ahead of World Cup qualifiers in September.

Sarah Lewis has been confirmed as Bloxham’s assistant, also on an interim basis.

Bloxham currently serves as the head coach of the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Dragons and was recently named Netball Super League Coach of the Year 2026, following a standout season in which the Dragons finished fifth, their highest league position and points tally since 2014.

Alongside her Dragons role, she also served as team manager and specialist coach for the Welsh Feathers at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, providing recent experience within the national team environment.

Lewis also brings significant knowledge of the Welsh Feathers, having previously served as Welsh Feathers assistant coach before moving into her role as U21/23 national academy head coach.

“I am very grateful and feel privileged to have this opportunity to lead the Welsh Feathers for the World Cup Qualifiers,” Bloxham said.

“Sarah and I know how each other coach and are determined to build a consistent performance culture to assist in our preparation for this campaign.

“Having insight into the Welsh Feathers performance environment will be beneficial to help us drive the standards and expectations we believe will continue to build on the foundations Emily [Handyside] and Natalie [Roddy] established.

“We know we have one shot at this, so will be throwing everything at it to ensure we qualify.”

Together, Bloxham and Lewis will lead preparations for the World Cup Qualifiers in Glasgow in September.

The interim coaching team will take responsibility for the Welsh Feathers through the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers in Glasgow in September, with preparations beginning immediately.

“We are delighted to welcome Reinga and Sarah to the Welsh Feathers,” Sarah Boswell, Chief Executive Officer of Wales Netball, said.

“They arrive at a moment when the squad needs strong, experienced leadership and a clear sense of purpose, and I have every confidence they will bring both.

“The World Cup qualifiers in September are our immediate focus and we are determined to approach them with everything we have. Reinga knows this programme and these players well, and that continuity matters enormously right now.

“Our search for a full-time Head Coach continues as part of our Ymladd 2030 ambitions, and we are committed to finding the right person to take this programme forward. In the meantime, the squad is in excellent hands.”

Wales Netball has also added that the search for a permanent head coaching appointment is ongoing.
