Cardiff City Community Foundation reflects on another season of off-pitch impact
Last week, Cardiff City FC Community Foundation gathered at the Cardiff City Stadium to host their Annual Impact Celebration event.
It was an opportunity to reflect on another year of meaningful impact for the Foundation, as they continue their mission to positively impact local communities across South Wales.
The celebration coincides with the launch of their 2024-25 Impact Report, showcasing the breadth of their work and how Cardiff City FC’s official charity are helping people.
The event shared stories from people who have experienced the Community Foundation’s impact first-hand. Their stories highlighted the powerful role football plays in improving health and wellbeing, supporting learning and skills, and building stronger communities.
From Lee Griffiths’ search for a secure and welcoming place for his dad at the 1927 Club following a dementia diagnosis, to work with dedicated partners such as the University of South Wales, and EFL in the Community to create inclusive, accessible environments for young people, every panellist shared a story of positive change in our communities.
Last season saw over 150,000 people attending their programmes, underpinned by a place‑based approach that continues to respond directly to local needs through tailored support, ensuring opportunity remains within reach for all.
“It’s the stories that resonate most, they show the real difference being made every day,” Zac Lyndon-Jones, the Director of the Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, reflected.
“I’m incredibly proud that, through the power of football and inspiration of Cardiff City Football Club, alongside our partners, we’re creating safe spaces where people feel supported and able to thrive, with a lasting impact on their lives.”
