Cardiff Devils have announced that Canadian forward Riley Brandt has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Last season with the Devils, the 29-year-old earned his opportunity to contribute offensively, and he stepped up in a big way, scoring 20 goals and 12 assists for 32 points in 62 games.

His 20 goals doubled his previous career high from the 2023-24 season when he scored 10 goals and nine assists in 67 games.

Brandt has played his entire professional career with the Devils after signing with the team midway through the 2021-22 season.

That season, he went on to lift the Playoff Championship and this past April, he won his second playoff title as a Devil.  He also lifted the IIHF Continental Cup in January 2025.

“Riley had a terrific career year points wise with us last season and will be urged for more of the same,” head coach Paul Thompson said.

“His popularity here is huge because he’s all action and totally committed to his club and to his teammates, but as he showed last season given the responsibility he can play further up the line-up and contribute far more offensively as he has the talent for that, no question.

“He brings the heartbeat and we are all happy he is back in Devils colours once again.”
