Glamorgan Women extended their early season win streak to eight matches in all competitions with a pair of victories to open their T20 Blast campaign.

As the side prepare for life in the professional top tier of the County game, Glamorgan have had a perfect start to the 2026 season, adding these two early T20 victories, to four wins in the One Day Cup, and two more in the T20 County Cup.

On Friday afternoon, club captain Lauren Parfitt led from the front with 86 off 58 balls as they beat Gloucestershire in by 65 runs in their opening game of the T20 Blast second tier.

Fellow opener Daisy Jeanes hit a rapid 38, while Emily Geach’s 3-24 was by some way the best bowling as Glamorgan piled up 184-6 in sun-soaked Bristol.

Gloucestershire could not get near the rate required as Nicole Reid took 1-13 in four overs and finished on 119-6, with two wickets each for Eve Jackson and Gemma Porter.

“Lauren’s doing an amazing job for us at the top of the innings and when you get off to a start like that, 55 off the powerplay, you can’t ask for much more,” Glamorgan coach Rachel Priest said after the Gloucestershire game.

“She’s in a purple patch and it sets everyone else off with the right tone. We ask Daisy to be nice and aggressive, particularly in T20, and it comes naturally to her.

“Overall I was satisfied in the field though there were some chances we missed, in a different game we might have been made to pay and we want to keep raising our standards.

“The exciting thing about this group is that we’re not at 100% performance yet, putting both halves of the game together, but I’m really pleased with how the girls are going.”

The next day, in a double header with the men’s side, Jeanes racked up a T20 career-best 86 from 56 balls before falling in the final over, the first victim of a hat-trick by Rhiannon Knowling-Davies that left Derbyshire with an unlikely victory target of 168.

An underwhelming batting display saw the visitors slump to 75 all out as Katy Cobb took 3-10, with two wickets each for Gemma Porter and Nicole Reid.

“We set ourselves up with a really good total to defend with the ball,” Jeanes said.

“We try to go hard from the beginning and use the hard ball in the powerplay, then it was looking to rotate the strike more as the ball goes soft.

“It feels good [to make a career-best score], a good day out and we’re so happy, we’ll just enjoy the wins as they come.

“Individual performances help towards professional contracts, but for now we’re trying to win as a team.”
