Audi Welcomes the Fully Electric A6 and S6 E-Tron

Audi aficionados are looking forward to a positive 2025 as the brand continues its most ambitious new model initiative with some exciting range additions.

Last year saw Audi’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) fleet claim a record 20 per cent share of its total circa 122,500 UK sales with the Q4 e-tron proving particularly popular amongst drivers and now ranked as the second best-selling BEV in the country.

With Audi’s lineup of plug-in hybrid TFSI e models once again performing strongly, almost one in three new Audis sold in 2024 had a plug.

2025 will see Audi broaden its BEV offering still further with the launch of the fully electric A6 e-tron whilst continuing the renewal of its product portfolio with all-new versions of some of the brand’s key models, such as the Q5 and A5.

With aspirations to have a battery electric vehicle in every core segment of its model portfolio by 2027, Audi is maintaining the momentum of its ambitious e-mobility strategy with the familiar upper mid-size A6 and S6 making way for the all-new A6 e-tron and S6 e-tron. The first UK deliveries of these eagerly anticipated newcomers are expected in February.

There’s certainly much to admire from the impending new arrivals which share their state-of-the-art Premium Platform Electric (PPE) foundations with the recently launched Q6 e-tron, delivering exceptional performance, range, efficiency, and charging capability – indeed the A6 Sportback e-tron can replenish enough power for up to 192 miles in just 10 minutes via an HPC fast-charger!

Boasting an exceptionally low drag coefficient of 0.21, the Sportback is not only the most aerodynamic series production Audi of all time, but also the most aerodynamic vehicle in the entire VW Group.

Capitalising on that aerodynamic efficiency, powerful, compact electric motors with a 100 kWh (94.9 kWh net) lithium-ion battery newly developed for the PPE ensure exemplary and exhilarating performance.

A6 versions deliver 380PS (with launch control) from a single rear-mounted motor driving the rear wheels whilst their S6 counterparts featuring a motor on each axle unleash 550PS (with launch control) to quattro all-wheel-drive with thrilling 0-62mph acceleration of 5.4 seconds and 3.9 seconds respectively.

There are equally impressive figures for their driving range too with the A6 Sportback e-tron recording 463 miles and the Avant e-tron capable of 437 miles.

S6 versions also achieve formidable staying power, the S6 Sportback e-tron covering up to 405 miles and the S6 Avant e-tron 388 miles.

Already generating plenty of interest at Sinclair Audi Centres is the advanced new A5 range that looks certain to consolidate Audi’s perennially strong position in the premium mid-size segment in 2025.

The stunning Saloon and Avant line-up is even more generously proportioned and comprehensively equipped than their predecessors and benefit from a new generation of ultra-efficient combustion engines as well as sophisticated new electronics.

The new-look range is characterised by a low, sporty silhouette and short overhangs that create a more athletic appearance.

Inside, the approach is equally fresh, thanks to new Material Driven Design. As well as maximising the sense of generous space and the feeling of premium class comfort, this new approach prioritises connectivity, visual clarity and ease of use even more highly.

At its heart is the Digital Stage, a curved, free-standing OLED panoramic MMI display integrating an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch MMI touch screen.

Further upgrades include an app store within the Audi smartphone interface giving access to a wide range of popular third-party apps, and the AI-supported digital voice Audi Assistant that can be used to vocally control numerous vehicle functions and can recognise more than 800 voice commands.

Driver assistance has also been bolstered by an upgrade to adaptive cruise control and the introduction of the parking assistant plus, which aids parallel and perpendicular parking by taking care of steering, accelerating and braking during manoeuvres.

Indeed, whichever trim option is preferred, owners cannot fail to be impressed by the level of styling and equipment available to them – A5 variants are initially available with a choice of Sport, S line and Edition 1 specification, while the S5 Saloon and Avant are offered exclusively in Edition 1 form.

Sport, S line and Edition 1 specs are also the enticing choices for drivers contemplating the all-new, third generation Q5 SUV available to order now from Sinclar Audi retailers in Bridgend, Swansea and Neyland with the first deliveries to customers anticipated in April.

Like the A5, the new Q5 and SQ5 now adopt a more sporting stance and incorporate much of the technology and connectivity aids of its sibling. As you would expect from any Audi, safety is second-to-none and the supreme SUV showcases a new feature debuting in a series production Audi for the first time.

This new projection light in the spoiler above the rear window is available on the S line and projects a graphic into the upper rear window, enlarging the brake light area and alerting following drivers to deceleration to help reduce the risk of a rear-end collision.

Innovation in the new Q5 and SQ5 extends beneath the bonnet too where the new 48 volt-based MHEV plus system supports the combustion engine, reduces CO2 emissions and at the same time increases performance and driving comfort.

This ingenious technology can contribute up to 230Nm of additional torque and up to 24PS of supplementary power for short periods whilst, when decelerating, allowing up to 25 kW of energy to be recuperated and fed back into the battery.

It’s a development that not only helps to minimise the load on the engine and reduce fuel consumption and emissions but also enables a degree of purely electric driving for manoeuvring and parking.
