An impressive all-round performance from Bethan Ellis saw Glamorgan secure their third win in three games against Derbyshire in the Women’s One-Day Cup.
Glamorgan are top of League Two of the One-Day Cup having beaten Derbyshire by 106 runs in Duffield on Monday.
After Daisy Jeanes was dismissed early off the bowling of Beth Slater, the experienced pair of captain Lauren Parfitt and Ellis came together to put on 153 for the second wicket.
Rhiannon Knowling-Davies brought Derbyshire back into the contest, dismissing both set batters as part of an impressive 5-36.
Contributions from Beth Gammon, Daisy Mullan, and Charlotte Lambert saw Glamorgan reach 236-8 from their 50 overs, a target that would prove to be unassailable.
Derbyshire began their reply in remarkably slow fashion, with opening bowler Eve Jackson bowling five maidens in her first six overs.
After Emily Hughes was run out by Megan McColl, Rebecca Duckworth and Frances Lonsdale put on a snail-like 29 from 10.3 overs, as Jackson and Gemma Porter took the game away from the hosts.
Eventually, the pressure told and wickets started to fall, with Porter picking up four, and Ellis three, as Derbyshire were bowled out for 132 from 41.5 overs.
The Ellis-inspired victory sees Glamorgan top of the One-Day Cup League Two table, with Middlesex yet to play their third match.
