In the world of Boxing, Olympic gold medallist Lauren Price will fight Naomi Mannes on the Tony Yaka vs Carlos Takam bill in Paris, the French capital where she clinched Olympic qualification back in 2021.

Lauren Price heads into the fight against the German with a 2-0 professional record, having beaten Valgerdur Gudstensdottir and Timea Belik in her first two professional bouts.

Price will be confident, having won gold at the Tokyo Olympics before enjoying an excellent start to her Professional career, but the former Wales international football will be well aware of Mannes’ quality.

Mannes will prove to be an interesting test for the Welsh boxer and was undefeated before her EBU welterweight title shot ended against Kirstie Bavington in November.

In squash, Joel Makin will be hoping to continue his fine form in the PSA Tour. Having won his second World Title event in Calgary, defeating the impressive Victor Crouin in the Oxford Properties Canadian Me’s Bronze event, Wales’ Makin heads into the Gillen Markets Canary Wharf Classic in excellent form.

The event will run between the 12th and 17th March, with players in the top ten all competing for the $110,000 prize, with ranking points going towards the CIB Road To Egypt.

Over in Ice Hockey, Cardiff Devils will take on Coventry Blaze on Saturday 11th March. The Devils currently sit third in the Elite league standings and sit just three points behind Belfast Giants on 68 points.

The Devils have won their last three games against Guilford Flames, Dundee Stars and Fife Flyers, since their 3-1 loss against Nottingham Panthers at the end of February.

But Brodie Dupont’s side have shed their inconsistency troubles of late and hope to continue their push towards the top of the table, with a victory against Coventry Blaze, who sit in fifth place, ten points below Cardiff.

The third round of the WRC Rally Championship also gets underway on March 16th in Mexico.  

Back on the calendar for the first time since 2020, Mexico is the season’s opening gravel round and a truly fascinating fixture.

Welsh fans’ interest will be fixed upon Dolgellau born Elfyn Evans. The Welsh rally driver, driving for Toyota Gazoo Racing, currently sits fourth in the WRC Rally standings on 29 points, just 12 points behind leader Ott Tanak.

The WRC Guanajuato Rally Mexico is based in the country’s fifth largest city of León, 400km north-west of Mexico City.

Back on the calendar for the first time since 2020, The high altitude of the mountains also means that the air is thin, affecting the performance of the cars and adding an extra level of difficulty to the race.

The rally is considered one of the most exciting events on the WRC calendar and draws large crowds of spectators from around the world.
